What’s the difference between going to a tattoo studio and coming to you?
The Ink Alchemy process is personalised from the very beginning, we first start with an in depth design call (which you would not get at a tattoo studio) where we talk and I really hear your story and the intention for your tattoo. You are not just another canvas to me, this is a unique and personal experience.
You will be tattooed in a private studio, so there won’t be the loud noises of other people being tattooed or talking. You get to choose the music we listen to, I will create an altar for your tattoo to hold the energy of our ceremony. I can even diffuse essential oils that have been personally picked out based on your emotional needs.

When’s the best time to get a tattoo?
Autumn - Early Spring is a great time to get a tattoo because it is best to keep healing tattoos out of direct sunlight and definitely out of wild water bodies (no swimming or bathing for up to 2 weeks after being tattooed) this is obviously much easier in the colder/darker months.
However there is nothing wrong with getting a tattoo in Summer either, and the most important thing is to follow your intuition.
Many people choose to go into a tattoo ceremony at an important milestone, perhaps a birthday or anniversary, or aligning your tattoo ceremony with a new or full moon, equinox or solstice or astrological event can add an extra layer of magic to your experience. Aligning with the energies of nature or the moon add another layer of depth and power to your intentions, supercharging your sacred skin marking with natural and universal energy.

Why hand poke tattooing?
Hand-poke tattooing is the most traditional method of tattooing, it is similar to how people would have tattooed in the ancient world. I really enjoy the slowness of hand poke tattooing, each dot of ink is placed with intention and care. It is a much gentler process than being tattooed with a machine, often people are surprised at how little it hurts and how quickly it heals.
As an artist I am continuously amazed at what you can achieve with this art form. The designs can be varied and detailed and we are engaging with an ancient c

Will it hurt?
Short answer is sometimes. Hand Poke tattooing is a very different sensation to machine tattooing and more often than not people are pleasantly surprised by how little it hurts, but there are no guarantees. The pain can vary from person to person, with the position on the body as some places are much more sensitive than others and can be related to the intention that you are bringing to the tattoo.
The art of alchemy is the process of transforming lead into gold or, when applied to tattooing, pain into beauty. I am well aware of the alchemy that takes place during these sessions and am there with you to provide comfort and support through any pain that arises. Learning to meet pain with a different perspective is a brave and transformative act, especially when holding the vision of an intention or greater goal as we do in these tattoo ceremonies, the pain becomes fuel for the spell you are casting, and it is always worth it.

How long will it take?
It depends. On where on the body it is, how much detail the design has, how big it is. Handpoke tattooing is generally slower than a machine tattoo, when we have a design I can give you an estimate of how long it might take.

What if I change my mind?
Getting a tattoo is a big deal and it’s natural to feel some doubt creeping in as the tattoo day approaches. This is why I encourage people to start with a design call, this is where we can talk about your design and I will draw it up for you after the call and edit it as you need. You can book a design call without any obligation to get it tattooed and you are welcome to sit with the design for as long as you need.
When you have booked in for a tattoo date I will have reserved the studio and taken payment from you. My cancellation policy is as follows:
Cancellation Policy:
20% of your tattoo price acts as the deposit and is non-refundable, unless Alice needs to cancel
Cancelling within 48 hours of your appointment requires a 50% payment.
Cancelling within 24 hours requires full payment.
Need to reschedule? Just let us know at least 48 hours in advance.

I’m worried about regretting my tattoo
This is a common concern in people considering a tattoo (especially if it’s your first), and a big reason why my design journey process is so in-depth. During the design journey we really get to the heart of what this tattoo means to you and create a design from this place, this creates a feeling of surety and commitment to your intention, I will ask questions to help you deepen into your ‘why’ so that when it comes to the tattooing process you are fully ready.
The ceremony around the tattooing also helps with this, we are creating an anchor in time, a memory that you will travel back to often. Your sacred skin marking not only holds the intention you came to me with but the experience of getting it tattooed, I take this very seriously and create experiences and ceremonies that are nurturing, caring and fun, an experience worth remembering for the rest of your life, that runs deeper than the surface of your skin. Definitely not something you could ever regret.

What's the aftercare? How long does it take to heal?
To be safe it is recommended to give your new tattoo up to two weeks to heal. This means moisturising it regularly (approx 3 times a day but this may vary) and keeping it clean.
It is not recommended to go swimming or have a bath for this healing time. To keep it out of direct sunlight and to wear loose clothing.
For the first few days of healing avoid strenuous exercise (lots of sweat!)ion goes here

Can I take your design to a different tattoo artist?
Yes. After our Design Journey Call, I will draw up your design and send you a digital copy, you are welcome to get it tattooed by someone else if you like. This is a good option for people who live in another country or cannot travel to Devon for any reason.
-
Can I set up a payment plan?
Yes. I have Klarna integrated into my payment links so you can spread the cost of your Sacred Skin Marking over three months.
